Fine Bangladeshi cooking, on the North Wales coast
Paanshee sits on the corner of Bastion Road, a few minutes from Prestatyn's high street and a short walk from the seafront.
The restaurant runs across two levels and seats two hundred, which means a table for two on a Tuesday and a party of thirty on a Saturday can both be looked after properly on the same night. The room was fitted out in a contemporary style — low light, dark wood, linen — and it has aged well.
The cooking is Bangladeshi first. Alongside the dishes everyone knows, the kitchen cooks the Sylheti specialities its chefs grew up with: shatkora, the citrus that gives lamb its distinctive tang, and naga, the chilli that gives a dish its edge. Spices are ground in-house and sauces are built from the base up through the afternoon rather than finished from a common gravy.
The whole kitchen is halal. Vegetarian dishes are cooked to the same standard as everything else, not adapted at the last minute — tell us about an allergy when you book and the kitchen will work around it.

Parties, functions and catering
The split-level layout takes a large group without taking over the restaurant, so a birthday of twenty-five doesn't spoil anyone else's evening.
We host birthdays, anniversaries, christenings and work dinners, and we cater outside the restaurant too. Set menus can be arranged for larger bookings — talk to us about numbers and we'll put something together.
